About Us
Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Clubs was established in 1936 and our very first Club, located at 17th Street, is still standing. 80 years later it remains an anchor in the community while other youth serving agencies are closing their doors. Over the years we have expanded our reach from 1 to 8 locations throughout the City of Niagara Falls. Eight-five percent of our Clubs are located in the poorest communities in Niagara County and our members are among the most at risk for academic failure, alcohol, tobacco and substance abuse, premature sexual experimentation, violence, gang activity and juvenile delinquency.
Today we are working to build a focus on academic success, career development and leadership and building healthy youth and families, so the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club will truly be THE place where Great Futures Start. We have an annual membership of over 1,400 young people who range in age from 5 – 21. Every day, caring and professional staff seek to enrich the lives of girls and boys who need us most. We are dedicated to ensuring that our community's disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures. Our Clubs provide diverse activities that meet the needs and interests of all youth. We utilize a base of appropriate & diversified programs that attract and hold children to the Clubhouse. Core programs based on physical, emotional, cultural & social needs & interests of boys and girls, and recognizing developmental principles, are offered through the implementation of various program activities in the following areas:
