Union Biddy Basketball League
The Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club has been operating the Union Biddy Basketball League since 1980. This youth basketball league is the longest running league of its kind in WNY.
The league is sponsored by Jonny Flynn, an alumni of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club. Jonny was a star basketball player at Niagara Falls High School who later played at Syracuse University. In the 2009 NBA draft, Jonny was drafted 6th in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves. To be able to give back to the Niagara Falls community, Jonny and his sister, Tabitha, created the "Union" basketball program. The Union Biddy Basketball League has been a training ground for a number of college, semi-pro and NBA players including Tyrone Beaman (Tennessee), Willie Cauley (Pittsburgh), Katie Delsignore (Rider), Regina Alston (Buffalo State), Derrick Fenn (Canisius), Nick Panepinto (RIT), Dewitt Doss (Canisius), Jermaine Crumption (Canisius), Jeff Street (St. Vincent), Demondi Johnson (Gannon), Jeff Parmer (Shiga L-Stars in Japan), Byron Mulkey (University at Buffalo), Greg Gamble (University at Buffalo), Paul Harris (Syracuse and Devon Marshall (Liberty) just to name a few. The League runs from November to February each year and is available to both boys & girls. Biddy Basketball starts in the fall of each year. Practices are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and games are on Saturdays. To register your child, go onto the parent portal and fill out the form.
