​Area Director - Teen Programming

The Area Director - Teen Programming directs and manages overall daily operations for our main Club location at 17th Street as well as lead the organization wide Teen program component through program development and training. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, they ensure their sites are continuously operating in accordance with organizational and state standards while also carrying out and supporting the values of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Ensure that all assigned Clubhouses are functioning at the highest possible level with respect to programming, lesson plans, staff training, inter-Club communications, and staff accountability; guaranteeing a standard of consistency.
• Incorporate the goals for youth in the club in all decisions, behaviors, and actions; which include, creating a positive self-identity, developing core competencies, giving youth a self of community and civic involvement, increasing their awareness of good health and well-being, and instilling a good moral compass in order to build positive relationships.
• Provide leadership and guide the organizations priority of Teen programming for all ages through the development and training of programming for all NFBGC Club locations.
• Ensure the implementation of the Five Key Elements which are shown to produce a deepening level of impact with the youth, which includes; a safe, positive environment; fun; supportive relationships; opportunities and expectations; and recognition.
• Create and monitor staff schedules as program necessitates, ensuring the correct ratio of staff and members to comply with grant requirements.
• Communicate with parents of members regarding progress, issues, permissions, and concerns at member pick-up time, Parent Social Nights and by telephone and e-mail.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff members.
• Schedule and direct weekly staff meetings, taking meeting minutes and file accordingly for regular inspection.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications and Skills
• Must possess at least an Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field. Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations or similar field preferred.
• No less than 3 years supervisory experience working in a youth program environment required. Must have experience working with teens ages 13 - 18.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must possess and maintain a valid and acceptable NYS driver’s license according to standards of our insurance company and OCFS for operating club vehicle(s). Local travel required.
• Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of different styles of learning.
​• Strong multi-tasking, time management and organization skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

The Area Director - Health & Life Skills directs and manages overall daily operations for 2 -3 assigned school site programs as well as lead the organization wide health & life skill program component through program development and training. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, they ensure their sites are continuously operating in accordance with organizational and state standards while also carrying out and supporting the values of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club.

School Site Supervisor

Our School Age Child Care Site Supervisors are responsible for the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club programming at their assigned program location. They oversee the staff and the program implementation for any defined NFBGC role in the schools extended design which includes before and after school. Site Supervisors must manage relationships with the school personnel, parents and community for their individual satellite Club location. Under the supervision of the Area Director and Director of Operations, they ensure that the Club is continuously operating in accordance with organizational and state standards while also carrying out and supporting the Values of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club.

Responsibilities
• Directly responsible for the overall operations of the clubhouse. Demonstrate success through the completion of the Accountability Chart.
• Ensure assigned site maintains compliance with all School Aged Child Care and Drop In Center regulations.
• Incorporate the goals for youth in the club in all decisions, behaviors, and actions; which include, creating a positive self-identity, developing core competencies, giving youth a self of community and civic involvement, increasing their awareness of good health and well-being, and instilling a good moral compass in order to build positive relationships.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate program curriculum completed, which will engage youth based on the Core Program Areas of C.H.A.S.E. (Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Education & Career Development).
• Responsible for implementing and supporting the Five Key Elements which are shown to produce a deepening level of impact with the youth, which includes; a safe, positive environment; fun; supportive relationships; opportunities and expectations; and recognition.
• Create and monitor staff schedule as program necessitates, ensuring the correct ratio of staff and members to comply with grant requirements.
• Communicate with parents of members regarding progress, issues, permissions, and concerns at member pick-up time, Parent Social Nights
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff members.
• Attend regular meetings and training.
• Monitor Club inventory and order supplies as needed utilizing agency policies and procedures for purchasing supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications and Skills
• Must possess a High School Diploma. Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience working in a youth program environment required.• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must possess and maintain a valid and acceptable NYS driver’s license according to standards of our insurance company and OCFS for operating club vehicle(s). Local travel required.
• Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified within six months of hire.

Hours: 7:15AM to 9AM // 2:30PM to 6PM M-F
Pay Rate:  $14.00/hr to $18.00/hr

Youth Development Professional

Under the supervision of the School Site Supervisor/17th Street Coordinator, the Youth Development Professional’s role is to help strengthen the health and life skills of youth. Youth Development Professionals lead many interactive, hands-on activities in the after school program and serve as positive role models and mentors for the Club members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Help youth achieve their expected goals; which include, creating a positive self-identity, developing core competencies, giving youth a self of community and civic involvement, increasing their awareness of good health and well-being, and instilling a good moral compass in order to build positive relationships.​
  •  Engage youth in the core program areas of C.H.A.S.E. (Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Education & Career Development), which are designed to enrich their physical, emotional, cultural, and social development.
  • Support the Five Key Elements which are shown to produce a deepening level of impact with the youth, which includes; a safe, positive environment; fun; supportive relationships; opportunities and expectations; and recognition.
  • Track attendance of Club members during each activity.  Should be aware at all times the number of members in a group and their whereabouts.
  • Assist members with academic assignments in individual and group settings.
  • Facilitate programs mandated by the Agency and give a comprehensive lesson on the assigned topic.
  • Lead Club members in safe and age-appropriate physical activities and interactive play.
  • Supervise members during recreational activities in and outside of the building.
  • Assist other staff with serving meals and snacks. At meal time, sit and talk with members while reinforcing proper etiquette.
  • Clean Clubhouse as necessary after meals and activities. Wash dishes, sweep, wipe tables, and organize.
  • Be present at scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
  • Serve as a positive role model to members by dressing and acting professionally and providing appropriate guidance and instruction on an individual basis.
  • May transport members in a company vehicle on field trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with youth required, preferably in an organized program setting.  Experience must include giving guidance of life skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and acceptable NYS driver’s license according to standards of our insurance company and OCFS for operating club vehicle(s).  Local travel required.
  • Must pass all agency required background checks

Job Type: Part Time
Hours: 7:15AM to 9AM // 1:45PM (Tuesdays)/2:45PM (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) to 6PM
​Pay Rate: $12.50/hr to 15.00/hr
